Mike Harris

President

Mike Harris serves as President of Heritage Abstract Company and Weichert Title Group, bringing decades of experience in the title and settlement services industry. He is focused on delivering reliable, high-quality service while strengthening partnerships across the real estate, lending, and legal communities.

Mike is the founder of Heritage Abstract Company, which he built into a trusted title provider known for its consistency, efficiency, and client-focused approach. Under his leadership, the company earned a strong reputation for delivering smooth, dependable closings and maintaining long-standing relationships throughout the industry.

Following the successful growth of Heritage, Mike continued his leadership as part of Weichert Title Group, where he plays a key role in guiding strategy, supporting operational excellence, and expanding the organization’s reach.

He remains committed to ensuring every transaction is handled with professionalism, care, and attention to detail, helping clients and partners move through the closing process with confidence.

Tommy Ryan

Sr. Vice President of Sales

Tommy Ryan is a seasoned title insurance professional with more than 20 years of experience supporting residential and commercial real estate transactions. He is known for his strategic approach to business development and his ability to build strong, lasting relationships across the industry.

Tommy focuses on partnering with real estate attorneys, lenders, and agents to help drive successful outcomes for their clients. His broad network and deep understanding of the title process allow him to consistently deliver reliable results and long-term value.

Prior to rejoining Weichert in 2021, Tommy held a key role with Valley National Title Services, where he was recognized for his success in generating new business and maintaining high levels of client retention across both residential and commercial markets.

Earlier in his career, Tommy held leadership roles in operations and sales with Palermo Supply Company and Borders Books. These experiences helped shape his strengths in team leadership, performance management, and client engagement, which continue to influence his results-driven approach today.

Joe Detrick

Vice President of Business Development

Joe Detrick brings more than three decades of experience in operations, technology, hospitality, and settlement services to his role as Vice President of Business Development at Weichert Title Group. He focuses on building strong partnerships, driving strategic growth, and supporting a smooth and efficient closing experience for clients and business partners. In his current role, Joe oversees Weichert’s joint venture title company partnerships throughout Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, helping drive strategic growth, operational alignment, and partner success across the region.

Joe began his career in the hospitality industry, serving in management roles with premier brands including Omni Hotels & Resorts, Renaissance Hotels, and Chart House Restaurants. These early experiences helped shape his client-focused approach, operational mindset, and commitment to delivering exceptional service.

He later transitioned into the legal and settlement services industry, beginning with a role at one of the nation’s largest and most prestigious “Big Six” law firms, where he developed a strong foundation in legal technology, operations, and process management.

Prior to joining Weichert Title Group in 2024, Joe spent more than 20 years in the title and settlement industry, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer for a leading settlement services company in the Washington, DC Metro area. In that role, he led operational strategy and helped align technology, processes, and service delivery to improve performance, consistency, and the overall client experience. Earlier in his career, he also served as Director of Information Technology, implementing systems and workflows that enhanced efficiency and supported continued organizational growth.

Drawing on his combined experience in hospitality, technology, operations, and business development, Joe works closely with clients and partners to help navigate complex real estate transactions with confidence while identifying opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and long-term growth.
